Part two: Using true no-code to transform your business

by Vito Solimene, Founder & Chief Technology Officer

In part one of this series, I discussed the Achilles heel of low-code approaches and how no-code platforms support enterprise-grade solutions. In this post, I discuss why true no-code is important and the advantages of an enterprise no-code platform. I also detail a strategy that allows you to adopt no-code technology at your own pace.

The no-code movement is here

The no-code movement refers to the growing acceptance and use of tools that enable both programmers and non-programmers to create, modify, and integrate software without writing any code. No-code is growing in popularity because it is lowering the barrier to entry of software development. In the enterprise software space, businesses are using no-code platforms to build custom applications, workflows, and other solutions. With the help of their citizen developers, they use no-code to increase efficiency and innovation across their organizations.

Why no-code works

The magic of no-code enterprise software lies in the commitment to no-code itself. Many vendors offer what they claim to be no-code solutions that are actually low-code solutions in disguise. Those solutions typically have a “trap door” that allows the ability to code in a low-level programming language. That is not true no-code.

True no-code platforms do not expose a low-level programming language. Instead, they completely remove the burden of coding from the business. True no-code platforms allow customers to build applications by combining and arranging visual elements. Some business leaders perceive a lack of code as a limitation—which often puts pressure on software vendors to open that trap door.

Very few platform providers have the discipline and commitment to remain true to a no-code philosophy. However, those that do provide their customers with a clear path to increased agility and future-proof business transformation.

True enterprise no-code platforms encourage organizations to customize applications however business needs dictate. They also allow them to sustain those customizations from release to release. In this way, organizations avoid the technical debt hidden just below the low-code trap door. They can continuously shape and refine their systems without the fear of mounting complexity and slipping into technical obsolescence.

No-code your way

At Nextworld, our founding vision was to build an enterprise no-code platform that would serve as the underlying technology for a full range of enterprise-grade applications.

With our no-code platform, we unlocked a way for our customers to transform their businesses at their preferred pace. Instead of ripping and replacing their entire systems, customers can take an “edge-to-enterprise” approach. They can build applications to solve their unique business problems and integrate them with their core systems. Customers can also leverage Nextworld's pre-packaged applications to add functionality to their core systems.

Our platform gives customers flexibility to modernize their enterprise software on their terms. This changes the dynamic, as they can take advantage of no-code in the areas where it will be most impactful.

Need to start your no-code journey with manufacturing or inventory management applications? No problem. The Nextworld platform underlies all enterprise applications, so organizations decide exactly how to welcome the technology into their operations.

Why use the Nextworld no-code platform

In addition to the value of a flexible adoption model, the Nextworld platform quickly demonstrates other advantages, such as:

In addition to the value of a flexible adoption model, the Nextworld platform quickly demonstrates other advantages, such as:

  • Reduced IT costs. Our platform's modern, cloud-native architecture eliminates procurement and operations costs and enables dynamic scaling, so customers can manage resources more efficiently.
  • Sustainable customizations. All Nextworld customizations are merged into each new release. This allows them to be preserved and enhanced through upgrades and helps customers avoid technical debt. Without technical debt, customization is no longer a dirty word for application developers.
  • Continuous innovation. By democratizing application development, innovation can occur anywhere in the organization, without bottlenecks to implementation. This accelerates innovation. Customers can can fully customize their business processes and continually update them to meet operational demands.
  • Talent maximization. Our no-code platform reduces the need for internal expert programmers and niche skillsets to care for legacy code. Companies can reallocate resources to other, forward-looking initiatives.
  • Future-proof systems. Nextworld completely separates applications and customizations from the underlying technology. This means application functionality is always protected, investments in applications are always protected, and organizations have the freedom to innovate without penalty.

From my perspective, this is an exciting time for business leaders and those who manage enterprise systems. As true no-code platforms that deliver enterprise-grade applications emerge, new opportunities for business transformation arise. They are giving organizations clear paths to continuous innovation.
